The invention relates to electrical engineering area and can be used in anode production from magnesium-based alloy for water-activated chemical current sources. Magnesium-based alloy containing gallium and thallium is produced by batching base components putting metal gallium and thallium in sealed inner cavity filled with inert atmosphere and created in source magnesium ingot; by melting mix materials in container; by melt mixing while changing slope angle according to container horizontal location or while rotating container around horizontal axis with the following melting crystallization in container by bottom-up moving of temperature gradient along vertical axis of container with melt at rate of 5-10 mm/min. Alloy component melting and crystallization is performed in container made from unalloyed steel. Technological effect of the invention is increasing of alloy quality due to gallium and thallium homogenous distribution along produced ingot bulk and alloy yield. 1 claim.
