Vibration and optical properties of reduced dimension semiconductor structures. Electron-phonon interaction in semiconductor nanocrystals

Dimensional quantum phonon mode calculations in cadmium sulfide semiconductor quantum wires (QW) and quantum dots are made. Eigenfrequencies and corresponding eigenvectors are found providing QW frequency-dependent polarizability calculation and hence experimentally measured quantities directly connected dielectric function of composite material consisted of semiconductor nanocrystals injected dielectric matrix.

Development of optical, structural and morphological properties of silicon carbide and nanocrystalline carbide synthesized in microwave discharge plasma is made. The process was directed to get nanoparticles consisted of crystal nucleus surrounded by silicon oxide shell in the final analysis.
