Integrated processing of quartz sands
The technology involves the following:
- disintegration, classification and desliming of raw materials,
- gravity separation of sands,
- removal of iron minerals from quartz products by special methods, the iron minerals to be divided and classified as glass sands (Fe203 content: 0.05%),
- molding and building sands, heavy fractions of sands being subjected to refinement in order to produce such by-products as titanium and zircon concentrates.
Production volumes are determined by demand from glass-manufacturing plants. Production volumes can range from 50 to 200 tonnes per year.
Manufacture of a wide range of glass products.
Potential consumers: glass-manufacturing plants, iron and steel plants. Current customers include various small businesses.
